Time to re-write this nutty bio. But I never know what to say on these; I always feel so pretentious. Sorry if I come off that way. It's hard not to. Labels, such rubbish. How cliche of me to say.

I've been in school a long time. I've studied Japanese (no degree), linguistics (no degree), English (minor), the humanities (minor) and sociology (major) and am graduating this spring. Ironically, of all of the above, not counting the fact that English is my native language and I've been speaking it all my life and learning about it in primary school, I've probably spent the most time on Japanese, most of that time outside of class. I studied in Hawai'i, where I was going to finish my Japanese and linguistics degrees, but things didn't work out, and there're no Japanese or linguistics classes here.

I write a video game journalism blog and keep up with the industry; I'm fascinated by its past, present and future, and I respond to it as best I know how. I also write songs, sing, and play guitar; it's an enormous part of how I express myself, whether I'm able to perform for people or not.

I feel like there are so many things important to me, and I've got my finders in so many different jars of pudding, that I just can't tell where I'll end up. I worry that my "career" will be with a different pudding jar entirely, and that makes me sad since I have so many pudding jars I already love and feel I give short shrift to. To paraphrase Bilbo Baggins, sometimes I feel I'm too little butter spread over too much bread. But I tell myself that I can do good for the universe no matter where I am. I won't think of myself as what my "job" is, and I won't divide my life into work and play. It's all play, because I insist upon enjoying all I do; and it's all work, because I insist that everything I do is part of fulfilling my dharma.

I love animals, trees, nature and spirituality.
